Since Google introduced Bard in February, everyone has been asking what that means for the Google Assistant. Well, today we know the answer – Bard is coming to Google Assistant. Assistant with Bard, as Google is calling it, is coming to iOS and Android in the “coming months.”
What Google said. Google wrote, “Today we introduced Assistant with Bard, a personal assistant powered by generative AI.” “It combines Bard’s generative and reasoning capabilities with Assistant’s personalized help.”
Inputs for Assistant with Bard. Google said you can “interact with Assistant with Bard through text, voice, or images.” This version can “even help you take actions,” Google added.
It can read your Gmail emails, your Google Docs and other Google services.
Smarter Assistant with Bard. Google explained that it is working to make Google Assistant smarted with Bard by building a “more contextually helpful experience” on your device. So if you take a photo of a puppy, as per the GIF below, it can help you write a social media post to share on your favorite social network.
Google said “Bard will use the image as a visual cue.” Here is how it looks:
iOS and Android. This will be released in the coming months for iOS and Android devices. For now, Google said it is “rolling it out to early testers soon” but won’t be available for the public for a “few months.”
